Funding Opportunity – CIHR Catalyst Grant: COEN Initiative

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is accepting applications for the following program: Catalyst Grant: COEN Initiative (Pathfinder).

The CIHR is part of an eight member, international group of research funding organizations collectively known as the Network of Centres of Excellence in Neurodegeneration (COEN). Six of the eight COEN members have put forward a call for Pathfinder projects to address the need for innovative research to underpin new approaches to therapeutic intervention.

In Canada, the aim of the Catalyst Grant: COEN initiative is to build productive links between recognized centres of excellence (COEs) in neurodegeneration to stimulate new, unconventional and creative solutions to the challenges of neurodegeneration research. Teams will be expected to combine research strengths across CoEs in at least two partner countries to provide a true, value-added, collaborative effort that will advance the approach to neurodegeneration research nationally and internationally.

This funding opportunity is open exclusively to members of the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging (CCNA).

  • The deadline to apply for this competition is October 5, 2015.
