Training Opportunity – CIHR Summer Program in Aging

Frailty is a health state associated with getting older that involves multiple serious health issues. Frailty can occur as a result of a range of diseases and medical conditions. The frail elderly are vulnerable and at a higher risk of adverse health outcomes. Research is needed to better understand and meet these challenges.

The CIHR Institute of Aging is collaborating with TVN on this innovative training event, “Late Life Issues: Recognizing Frailty and Improving Care.”

This unique, interactive training program will run from May 9-13, 2016 in Toronto, Ontario. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows interested in learning about research related to the area of frailty and/or late life issues are encouraged to apply. Trainees will have the opportunity to participate in advanced training that crosses disciplines and brings together trainees, researchers, and members of the public and private sector from across Canada and abroad.

The training program is in collaboration with TVN – Improving care for the frail elderly.

Please note that the information on applying for the 2016 CIHR Summer Program on Aging is now available on the CIHR ResearchNet.
