An exploration
This public art project explores themes of discovery, memory and transformation within the dementia journey.
Whether you are a person living with dementia, a caregiver, partner, researcher, clinician, or member of the general public, this project invites your voice. The process of losing someone or something often leads to unexpected discoveries and new understandings.
What have you lost besides the person? What have you discovered in its wake? Loss often leads to unexpected insights and new pathways forward.
Join us in creating meaning from this journey. Your words matter.
Your responses are anonymous unless you decide to share your email below.

Share your journey
Please write in a few words about something that you lost, besides the person, to dementia and something that you found or discovered through this journey.

Your contributions will create a collective space for pause and reflection, honouring individual stories while building shared understanding. These responses will inspire discussion on reframing dementia narratives and spark artistic collaboration for presentation at the 2026 CCNA Annual Conference.
This project is an initiative by Kelly Beaton, a member of CCNA’s Engagement of People with Lived Experience of Dementia (EPLED), and Nathalie Belanger, CCNA Knowledge Mobilization Specialist
