A successful AAIC 2015: CCNA Key Take-Aways

This year’s Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC), held in Washington, D.C., was a wonderful opportunity for CCNA representatives to showcase their work, including sharing new knowledge in dementia research, collaborating with international colleagues, and presenting discoveries to advance the field, some of which were even picked up by the press.

Supporting collaboration, the first “Canadian Hub” was launched at AAIC 2015. It marked the beginning of a great new tradition to link national research initiatives, one that we look forward to revisiting at AAIC 2016 in Toronto, ON. The “Canadian Hub” was comprised of:

  • Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)
  • Alzheimer’s Society of Canada (ASC)
  • Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA)
  • Canadian Alzheimer’s Disease Basic Research Symposium (CANAD)
  • Consortium of Canadian Centres for Clinical Cognitive Research (C5R)
  • Le Consortium d’Indentification precoce de la maladie d’Alzheimer du Quebec (CIMAQ)
  • Alzheimer TV

Not surprisingly, there were a number of meetings with academic and industry representatives, who showed great interest in the development and current unfolding of the CCNA.
