The Comprehensive Assessment of Neurodegeneration and Dementia (COMPASS-ND) study, the CCNA clinical cohort study and the largest and most ambitious dementia study ever undertaken in Canada, met a major milestone by enrolling its 1000th participant this past month. Congratulations to all the researchers and affiliated workers who have worked so hard to bring us to this point, and a heartfelt thanks to all the participants and their study partners who have given of their time and provided invaluable information which will help to increase our understanding and ability to treat age related cognitive decline and dementia.
The engagement of all in this important study is deeply appreciated and we are not done yet. New sites have started recruiting in Hamilton, London, and Toronto, and soon new sites will soon be starting in Halifax and Montreal. We are still looking for another 1300 participants to complete our cohort, and are confident that, with your help, we will reach that goal by September 2021.
