Abstracts must be submitted electronically no later than: 5:00 pm EDT on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.
The trainee poster session will take place on October 6th (from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.) Please note that there will be no general poster session this year.
The CCNA Training and Capacity Building Program is pleased to announce that a limited number of competitive travel awards are available for CCNA-affiliated trainees interested in presenting their work. Trainees who want to be considered for a travel award should indicate this on the Abstract Submission Form.
Please note that trainees who do not require (e.g., reside in the Montreal area) or do not receive a travel award are still invited to register for the Annual Meeting, present their poster, and attend the trainee sessions that will be part of the program.
**Posters submitted and presented on Science Day by CCNA-affiliated trainees are automatically entered into the CCNA Trainee Poster Award Competition. Trainees are encouraged to stand by their poster during the scheduled time for the session.
Poster Competition Format:
- Poster submissions will be reviewed by a committee prior to Science Day.
- The committee will choose the top 3 posters in each trainee category (Master’s, PhD, and post-doctoral).
- The top posters will be submitted for judging on Science Day.
- The format of the poster session will be a walking tour.
- Trainees presenting the top posters will be asked to deliver a 3 minute presentation to judges, followed by 2 minutes of questions.
General Abstract Submission Criteria:
- No more than 250 words.
- Must feature CCNA-funded research work.
- Clearly written and appropriate for multiple audiences from various disciplines and backgrounds.
- Presents information on question addressed, study methods, results, and implications of the research.
Additional Criteria:
- To submit a poster you must be a CCNA trainee. Not sure if you are a CCNA trainee? See our definition here.
- Note: You do not need to have received CCNA funds to be considered a CCNA trainee.
- Trainee must have made a significant contribution to the research presented and be first author.
- Trainee must have the permission of their CCNA supervisor for submitting the poster abstract.
- Trainees may submit ONE poster abstract to be reviewed by the committee for the poster competition.
- You may submit additional abstracts where your are a first author or co-author for the poster session. If you choose to submit additional abstracts you will be asked to indicate below which abstract you would like to be adjudicated by the review committee.
